Golf coaching built around you, your game, and what you want to get out of it.
Hi, I’m Jeff,
Golf has been a thread running through my life for more than 30 years – as a competitive player, a career, a business, and always showing up as a teacher.
I grew up working on golf courses and playing competitive junior golf – playing well at the provincial level and also competed in two Canadian Junior Championships. I studied Turfgrass Management at the University of Guelph, built a career in the golf industry, and eventually opened The Golf Club with my wife, Terri.
Over the years, my curiosity has shifted from simply how we swing the golf club to something I find much more interesting: what helps us actually play the game well?
That’s become the foundation of how I coach.
Understand your tendencies and find changes that make sense for you.
Learn how to practice with purpose and take what you’re learning onto the golf course.
Explore how attention, expectations, confidence and pressure affect the way you play.
It’s easy to get caught up trying to build the perfect golf swing. Positions, numbers, mechanics and technique all have their place – but ultimately, we still have to stand over the ball, react to a target and hit the shot.
I don’t believe there’s one way to swing a golf club or one way to play good golf.
My job isn’t to build my version of your golf swing. It’s to help you understand your tendencies, explore what works for you, and develop a game you can actually take to the golf course.
Sometimes that means working on technique. Sometimes it’s how you practice. Sometimes it’s decision-making, attention, confidence or simply getting out of your own way. My job isn’t to build my version of your golf game. It’s to help you better understand yours.
I had done countless hours of professional lessons but I had never explored the mental side of the game. I left the growth social understanding so much more about how my attitude and mindset before, during and after could affect my score and my ability to enjoy the game even when my score wasn’t great.
I experienced what it feels like to be present and focused on your address and swing and there is no room for self doubt. We explored how I let self doubt and confidence issues affect the outcome of my game and in many ways affect my day to day life. The breakthroughs I experienced have not only influenced my golf game but my life.
Jeff has a rare ability to make people feel truly heard. He listens deeply - beyond just words - and reflects back what’s been said with clarity and precision, often helping you understand yourself more fully in the process. From there, he asks thoughtful, powerful questions that gently open new perspectives and deeper insight.
Using the game of golf as a mirror for deeper self-awareness and how we show up in life – on and off the course.
For me, the golf course has become less about chasing lower scores and more of a classroom – a place where I can observe my reactions, build self-trust, and learn to respond with more maturity and compassion.
The desire to control outcomes and expectations on the course often reflects the same tendencies we have in life – wanting certainty, attaching ourselves to expectations, and adding pressure to outcomes when most of the time, all that’s being asked of us is to show up and try our best.
Golf has an incredible way of revealing where we are not free in our lives.
Golf & Growth explores the patterns that show up and the stories we tell ourselves when we play. Often, those patterns and stories have very little to do with golf.
Golf is simply the mirror.
When we have the courage to look in that mirror, we give ourselves a chance to understand what we see. And with greater understanding comes the opportunity to respond differently.
More curiosity. More awareness. More joy. More freedom – both on and off the course.
